ABOUT ABOUT

Journey back a century in time for a revealing look at how people found fun and recreation in St. Charles during the Roaring '20s. Your "tour guide" is Al Watts, community engagement director of Preservation Partners of the Fox Valley. Through historical photos and stories, Al will take you to local, 1920s sites that added zest to living here during the Roaring '20s. Both hidden and iconic downtown St. Charles sites will showcase the good times before the Great Depression; from prohibition-impacted businesses to good, clean, outdoor fun.

Preservation Partners was founded in 1974 to foster an awareness and appreciation of landmarks, buildings, monuments, documents and property of historical importance to Kane County, and to engage in and seek the preservation, authentic restoration, and protection of these, and to promote their use for educational purposes. Since then, Preservation Partners has grown and continues to grow its efforts focused on the preservation of our local heritage.
